Haptic Apparel for Under Armour
Objectives
Part 1:
To select one or more emerging technologies that allow retailers to offer their customers an enhanced shopping experience. The technology can apply to the retailer's product assortment, supply chain, store environment, or communications strategy. Choose a particular retailer that can benefit from the technology and demonstrate how it can be deployed in that retailer's business. The retailer must have a brick and mortar presence.
Part 2:
• Design a spring 2018 product/collection that integrates the technology focus into a specific product category.
• Develop 4-6 pages of process/sketchbook work that shows the full design process including a color palette and inspiration board for the proposed line.
• Illustrate 6-8 "looks" for the proposed product offering.
• Select 3 "looks" and create technical Illustrator front and back flat sketches showing seams, trims, and stitch placement. At least 2 garments need a zoomed construction detail.
• Show at least 1 look that demonstrates customization/personalization and explain the importance of this feature in the clothing. Explain how the company will implement and streamline the customization process into the manufacturing process while keeping the product at a competitive price for the consumer.
